We love educators! And what better way to get to know these wonderful people than to spend a few days talking to them about their classroom challenges, and sharing with them how Wi-Fi can help improve the way kids learn.
We also like helping make the job of educating easier, so we held a little contest on Facebook where people could enter to win an Apple TV. (If you’re not sure where Apple TV fits in with the education landscape, then have a look at our Bonjour Gateway product)
And this is exactly what we did last week at ISTE 2012, where we got to know some really cool educators and IT folks while demonstrating Aerohive’s recent announcement with JAMF Software. Our two companies have teamed up to simplify Apple-device management by combining intelligent controller-less Wi-Fi access with JAMF Software’s MDM (Mobile Device Management) solution.
While at the show ...
... we demoed in our booth ...
... and they (JAMF Software) demoed in their booth ...
... we were one big happy, demoing family, knocking the socks off attendees who stopped to hear about how to ease the headache of managing Apple devices for school Wi-Fi network administrators.
One of our fans: Phil Hardin from Rowan-Salisbury School District, stopped by Aerohive’s booth for a minute, posing for the camera while holding up a copy of his recently released case study. What a good sport!
Announcing: Apple TV Giveaway Winners
While at ISTE, we also had a lot of fun with the “Apple TV Giveaway” contest we ran via Twitter and Facebook. After Tweeting, blogging and Facebooking the following rules, we got a slew of enthusiastic posts to our Facebook wall:
1. Like Aerohive’s FB page.
2. Leave a comment telling us how Wi-Fi has improved the way kids learn in your school or district.
3. ISTE Conference attendees were able to double their chance to win by:
a. Taking your photo in front of the Aerohive’s ISTE booth.
b. Uploading that photo to Aerohive’s Facebook page.
Almost twenty people threw their hat in the ring, including this awesome teacher who took a minute to kindly pose for a shot in front of our booth. Thanks Darla!
Speaking of enthusiastic Facebook-posters, it’s time to announce the three winners to our Apple TV Giveaway.
Drum roll please ....
The winners are:
Suzanne Berg Brazzell, who posted: "Wifi provides students and teachers the ability to be mobile and not tied down to a classroom. Reading groups on iPads outside!"
Thea Kessler Patrick, who posted: "WiFi has helped our kids connect anywhere so they can learn on their terms, in their own time. This opens up the 21st world to them!"
Darla DeVaughan, who posted: "Our 8th grade students all have iPads and having wifi has greatly increased our use of the iPads in the classroom."
Actually, everyone's a winner. Please get in touch with us if you entered our contest by posting on our Facebook wall last week. Email us @ email@example.com to find out what you won.
Thanks for all the great posts! That was so fun I think we’ll do it again. Would you participate in another contest if we did? Let us know and we’ll start planning!
We were also able to video some really great customer, which we will share in the upcoming weeks. More reasons to stay tuned to Aerohive’s blog.
